MEGARON
Also known as: MEGARITIKI, LADOLIA, PENAHORTIKI Area of origin: GREECE TREE: A tree of medium vigor with a drooping habit and sparse canopy. The leaves are elliptic lanceolate of medium length and width. FRUIT: The fruit is cling stone which is used for both green and black cured olives as well as oil. AGRONOMY: This is a hardy variety with an intermediate start of bearing. It has a low pistil abortion rate and a medium time of flowering and ripening. COMMENTS: A good all around very hardy variety whose fruit size varies depending on the sub-species available. Resistant to dry climates and moderately tolerant of cold. |
